GIRLS TRYOUTS
The USL Academy is designed to identify talented young players and provide them a clear roadmap from the developmental Academy level, to our premier W League team and, upon its launch, to the fully professional Super League.
Our goal is to promote and expose top teenage girls to the women’s game, be it at the professional and/or collegiate level.
FC Miami City is hosting open tryouts (Free) to recruit and unify the best talent U13+ to participate in:
- The USL Academy Cup, a nationally acclaimed competition, that is taking place from March 30th to April 2nd (U13, U15 and U19 categories)
- The USL Academy Summer League
- A showcase, carefully selected by the FC Miami City Technical Team
WHY PARTICIPATE IN THE TRYOUTS IN SOUTH FLORIDA?
- Join FC Miami City, a fully affiliated member of the United Soccer League (USL) since 2014.
- Participate in one of the most prestigious national tournaments in the United States, the USL Academy Cup and play against the best teams in the country. Players are not required to leave their full-time youth team to participate in the USL Academy Cup.

FAQ's About the USL Academy Cup
It’s one of the most prestigious national tournaments in the United States, as it brings together the top youth prospects from all markets that have a USL club. The goal of the competition is to identify players with potential to reach the professional level and/or collegiate level. Scouts are present throughout the event to observe the most promising players. Like the MLS Festival, it’s an exceptional showcase for players, but it is instead intended for USL clubs.
From March 30th to April 2nd, 2023 at the Tournament SportsPlex of Tampa Bay.
FC Miami City will have 1 team for each age group: U13, U15 and U19. Our teams will compete in the first division of those 3 tournaments, and will play against the best teams in the country.
The answer is NO! Players are not required to leave their full-time youth team to participate in the USL Academy Cup. Sanctioned by the U.S. Soccer Federation and Canadian Soccer Association, you can play the USL Academy Cup without getting released from your current club and still play for FC Miami City.
To make a team, you need to participate in the official tryouts led by the FC Miami City technical staff. The tryout is taking place on Sunday, February 5th, at the PSG Academy USA Campus in Fort Lauderdale.
The 3 girls teams will be fully funded.
