FC Miami City challenged Tampa Bay United for the full 90 minutes in what finished as a 2-2 tie on June 2nd. In the second ever meeting between the two clubs, both teams were forced to share the points in a thrilling match.
Forward Brandon Reid opened the scoring in the 49th minute with a perfectly timed header on a cross from Ivan Arenas. After conceding twice, FC Miami City fought back to score the tying goal through a powerful shot by Cameron McDonald assisted by a long ball from goalkeeper Marko Rajic. Rajic was the hero in the end when he saved a penalty kick in the final moments of second half stoppage time.
The team rallied together to earn a point towards the season total. The effort was helped by USL Academy League and PSG Academy Florida players Sebastian Prada and Julius Williams who earned their USL League 2 debuts for FC Miami City in this tie. FC Miami City returns home on June 12th to face FC Florida U23.
